Well the last few weeks have been a blur everything seems to be happening at once and going at breakneck speed. I have managed to get myself a physio appoint after almost twelve months to sort out my old knackered back, started working as 'The Art Lady' at the local school which is brilliant as the children are just so full of possibilities, and joined the Bright agency so I should be getting work on a regular basis.
Feel so full of energy lately, I can't wait to get back into the swing of illustrating new projects.
On a slightly more domestic note I think I have pickled, stewed boiled bagged and mashed every fruit known to man over the summer break, as we have so much in the way of raspberries, pears, blackcurrants, damsons and gooseberries not to mention the apples which are stored under the kitchen cupboards in newspaper making the whole place smell fantastic!
It really is a hoot living in the country, although I do enjoy my little jaunts to The Smoke once in a while it keeps my blood pumping!
Anyhoo back to sketching a few new ideas and catch up with some downtime planning for the Art club next week.......and since I have finished my book, 'The terrible privacy of Maxwell Sim', (which incidentally has a rather odd ending) I better get on and order my next...A prayer for Owen Meany I think ...

Finally found the image of the Chris Riddell life altering incident. Which set me on a journey into Tigerville overload for a while, I don't think I managed to draw anything else except our stripy friends for months. Looking at the photograph I don't think you can tell too much that I was several sheets to the wind which is very unlike me, as I am usually T total but I had an attack of nerves.....I don't even think anyone managed to prise the glass from my fingers before I accepted my award!

'Don't Wake the Beastie!'
My most recent picture book with Bloomsbury has been out since April, by Dawn Casey. It was an absolute blast to illustrate.
My work is very linear with a water colour wash here and there. I can draw a particular drawing many times until I'm happy with it and even then I have been know to change something on the day of the deadline!
A few images from inside the book.........

Welcome to It's all about the line
Hello everyone, I finally got around to getting over my phobia of laptops and created a Blog!
I'm a children's book illustrator living in sunny rural Shropshire surrounded by animals, children and a husband... not necessarily in that order.
